In Search of Alien Life
Who: Quen, open to all
Where: Chow's
What: Quen's looking for props.
Quen has found some interesting things at Chow's over the years. There's always some odd-or-end that makes a good prop for one of their shows. Nothing like an exotic import to set the mood for a set that's supposed to be a far off land. Today though, he's got a bit of an extra challenge. Due to the local hubbub about 'mysterious lights' being spotted, Captain Mystery's Strange Theater is doing an episode on alien life and flying saucers.
Albee'd gone off to the junkyard to pick up some scraps that could be made into a convincing flying saucer. And he'd left Quen in charge of picking up some 'alien' accessories to recreate what the interior of that ship might look like. So it was that Quen found himself here at Chow's, picking through all the exotic odds and ends, squinting at this-and-that as he tried to picture it as part of a set.
"Hmn... would aliens have dragons? Maybe with some doctoring, it could be a space wyrm..."

"Help sleep? Hmnnn..."
He's familiar with such troubles his own self, on nights when the dreams are bad. Chow moves out from behind the counter to one of his cabinets, opening it to rummage within. He pulls forth two bottles and holds them forth.
"Emperor's tea pills," while lifting one, "and suan-zao-ren-tang-pian," for the other. "One dollar, each. Dragon two dollars."
Due to his education in medicine, Chow knows plenty of Western cures for insomnia too. But he knows that the people of Pleasantdale don't come to his shop for what their Western doctors can give them. They come for the exotic, for the foreign, for their assumptions of what he offers. 'Chinese wisdom', ha.

Alex set the glass dragon on the counter before taking the bottles from Chow's hands, turning them to read the labels. He had tried western methods to help with the insomnia before, but all they did was make him groggy and fatigued through out the day. Hopefully herbs would be less likely to turn him into the walking dead.
Fishing in the pocket of his coat, he pulled out four dollars and handed it across the counter.

She smiled, hopefully "It will be very nice"

"I'm afraid I am quite busy these days. Please let her know that I am sorry I will have to miss it. Perhaps I will see you at the Founder's Day celebration?"

Well, it wouldn't hurt to try to get some business, even if he did say no to the party.
