Bored Half to Death

When: Friday, Lunch Time
Where: Pleasantdale High School, Lunch Room

It didn't take much to get Meredith Delany bored, and school did it easier than most things. All she really wanted to do was get away from the place and maybe work on some music with her dad, but instead she was stuck in school and hoped that the day would somehow speed up and end a lot faster than what it was doing now.

At least right now was lunch. She got her food from the cafeteria lady (god she hoped that she never got that big or greasy looking), heading out into the lunch room, skirt swishing across her hips. She was looking around for a place to sit, hopefully with friends. She was already dreadfully bored with the day, and something that would make it a heck of a lot worse was to be sitting alone.

"Ewww. I don't want to get rabies," Georgio said, wrinkling his nose. Not that he ever got invited to makeout point, or had anyone to invite there. But he sometimes took a shortcut through the woods on his way somewhere - and that was certainly going to stop if there were rabid animals running about.

"Did you see a real live rabid animal, Nica? It didn't try to bite you, did it?"

[nica_hepcat]

"More like a ... kind of ... dead ... rabid human," Nica said with a shudder. "It was creepsville. And he kept trying to get up and fight but the doctors with us said he should have been dead ages ago."

[aint_got_time]

"Did he get killed?" Lynn asked, rather shocked by what was being said "I wish I'd been there."

[nica_hepcat]

"Well, they said he was already dead, but he ... stopped moving, anyway."

[georgio]

"....wait, what?"

Georgio wasn't always the quickest study, so he was sure he missed something there. How could something be dead, and moving around? Unless....

"Oh oh... like Zombies of Mora Tau, or Plan 9 from Outer Space?"

He couldn't decide whether this was super creepy and wrong, or really cool. "Maybe it is aliens! That's what this week's Captain Mystery is going to be about-- so maybe it really is!"

"Yeah, yeah, like a zombie!" Nica said. "Very spooky."

"I really wasn't exactly aware that rabies turned people into zombies," Mere said, sounding like she didn't quite believe this. "Since when did Pleasantdale get interesting enough that we get our own little real life horror movie in the form of Ed Wood craziness."

Mere actually did love going to the movies, and not just to use it for naughtiness. She had an odd love of anything horror related. She'd even go watch reshowings of old silent horror movies when they were shown.
